Agricultural Cooperative
Maslinari Istre
Our mission
Connecting producers, raising quality standards and building a stronger joint market presence.
About Us
An agricultural cooperative connecting Istrian olive growers and creating shared value through extra virgin olive oil.
How the cooperative was founded
The Maslinari Istre Agricultural Cooperative was founded at the end of 2019 as the first cooperative bringing together olive growers from across Istria. It was established to connect producers, raise quality standards and create long-term value for Istrian olive oil.
How we work
We enable our members to focus on what they know best - their olive groves and production. The cooperative takes care of product development, quality assurance, marketing, sales and market positioning. Most of our members are small family farms.
Today
After the initial challenges of establishing the business, the Cooperative has grown into one of Istria's leading producers of extra virgin olive oil. Each year we process approximately 120-160 tonnes of olives and produce around 15,000-20,000 litres of extra virgin olive oil, in strict accordance with PDO Istra (Protected Designation of Origin) requirements.
OUR WORK
Activities
The activities of the Cooperative include production, quality, promotion, education and development of the olive sector in Istria.
Activities
Through joint activities, we support the sustainable development of Istrian olive growing, improve quality and strengthen the recognition of our olive oil.
Processing & quality
Our members' olives are processed in modern facilities under strict PDO Istra (Protected Designation of Origin) rules. We control origin, ensure traceability and aim for consistently high oil quality.
Marketing & sales
We support our members through joint market positioning, brand development, marketing, sales and distribution. We cooperate with restaurants, retailers and business partners in Croatia and abroad.
Projects & funding
We implement development projects and use available funding opportunities to modernise production, improve quality, develop new products and strengthen the competitiveness of our members.
Education & sector development
We organise professional training, knowledge exchange and cooperation among olive growers, experts and institutions to support the continued development of Istrian olive growing.
